## Meaning

"On my radar" means you are aware of something and are keeping an eye on it.

"It's on my radar" tells someone you know about an issue, even if you haven't acted on it yet. It is useful for answering "Did you see this?" without committing to a deadline. The opposite, "not on my radar", means you didn't know about it or don't consider it important. "Put it on my radar" asks someone to make you aware of something.

## When you hear it

A teammate asks if you saw the flaky test failures from last night, and you have but haven't fixed them yet.

## Examples

- **replying in Slack:** "The flaky tests are on my radar. I'll dig in this afternoon."
- **in a one-on-one:** "Is there anything I should have on my radar for next quarter?"
- **admitting you missed something:** "Thanks for flagging, the renewal date wasn't on my radar."

## What native speakers say

- "Yes, that's on my radar, I'll look at it after lunch."
- "Thanks for putting this on my radar."
- "Honestly, that wasn't on my radar."

## Common mistakes

- ✗ "It's in my radar." → ✓ "It's on my radar." (Use "on", not "in".)
- ✗ "It's on my radar. (when you'll never do it)" → ✓ "I don't have time for this. Could someone else take it?" (Don't use it to avoid saying no.)
- ✗ "It's on my radar. (when a date is needed)" → ✓ "It's on my radar; I'll have an update by Thursday." (Add a time if the other person needs to plan.)

## Be careful

"On my radar" can sound vague. If someone is waiting on you, add when you'll act.
