RFP

In simple English

In tech companies, an RFP is used when an organization needs external services or solutions and wants multiple vendors to compete for the contract. The RFP outlines the requirements, timeline, budget parameters, and evaluation criteria. Vendors then submit detailed proposals explaining how they would meet those needs and at what cost. RFPs are common in enterprise software procurement, consulting services, and outsourced development projects. The process allows companies to compare different options fairly and transparently before making a purchasing decision.

Understand what an RFP is, how it is used in business and tech procurement, and why companies send them to vendors.
