value-add

value-add — A value-add is an extra benefit that makes a product, service or person's work more useful.

In simple English

In sales, a value-add is something extra a customer gets, like free onboarding or premium support. Inside teams, people ask "What's the value-add?" to question whether a meeting, step or feature is worth the effort: "I'm not sure what the value-add of this approval step is." It can be a polite way to challenge something.
