Meta's Muse AI Avatar Now Lets Users Video Chat in the United States

Highlight any word to see what it means and translate it.

Meta has made video chat and voice call features available for its Muse AI avatar to all users in the United States.

Muse is a consumer AI agent that helps users by answering questions and completing tasks. The company first showed Muse at its developer conference in September this year.

The most interesting thing about Muse is its animated avatar, which users see and speak to. The avatar has a cute appearance, and the company gave it the nickname Jolly.

Users can change how their avatar looks. Some people make it look like a real person, others make it look like an animal, and some create more imaginative characters.

When users talk to Muse, the avatar shows expressions and hand gestures that match the conversation. For example, if the user is joking, the avatar might smile or laugh.

Other companies have AI chat features, but Muse is different because of its animated avatar. Meta believes that this friendly character helps users feel more connected to their AI assistant.

The video chat feature works on phones, computers, and the Mac operating system. Meta also plans to add it to AI glasses and a new hardware device called Muse Charm.

Muse Charm is a small wearable device that will arrive before the end of this year. It will show the avatar on a small screen, and users can speak to it and ask it to do things.

Meta's chief AI officer announced the news on social media, sharing a video of his avatar in action.
